Pet Bloggers Awards & Resources
A few weeks ago, I was nominated by For The Love of Paws as a blog to follow. Not only am I over the moon about it, thanks, Shelby! I am also totally jazzed to be able to share 15 new blogs that I love. Cause at the end of the day that is what this really about for me. Being able to be part of the pet community. (yes, I am really this big of a cheese-ball) Usually, I stick to just natural pet topics, but for this post, I am going to branch out to other blogs I love that express the joy our pets bring us also.
The rules to accept this award are listed below:
- Thank the nominating blogger
- Write a post about the award
- Respond to the nominating blogger with a link in the post to their blog
- Share a story of how and why you started your blog
- Offer at least two pieces of advice for new bloggers
- Pass on the nomination to another 15 bloggers
Why The Lazy Raw Feeder Exists
I started The Lazy Raw Feeder to act as a gateway to creating a natural life for your pets, simply. I was inspired to do this after attending my first BlogPaws this year for work. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful that event was. It was life-changing. No joke, I arrived as a vendor to work, but left a member of a large group with the purpose of helping, loving, and sharing the joy of our pets. Since I already was a raw feeding advocate and kibble convert, I figured sharing the tips I have learned was the best way to contribute. Add my desire to find practical ways to create a natural household and BAM! The Lazy Raw Feeder was born.
Tips for Newbies
Starting a blog didn’t seem hard to me. I had experience through my job already. But starting just one blog with one focus was almost impossible. My creative process is something a call Beautiful Minding. If you are not familiar with that concept refer to the gif below.
So, I had to take my favorite idea and make that my first category for my blog. Then whenever I go to write I make sure it fits that category’s topic. If it does not I then have to decide if I have enough ideas to create another category. If I do I go forth and expand my blog. If I don’t I throw that idea to the side. WordPress is great at having you fill out all our categories with descriptions and also classifying each post. Also, basic SEO knowledge is a must for me. It keeps me on one path when I am writing. I use Yoast SEO plug-in to keep me on topic and Moz to do topic research. Both Yoast and Moz have great tutorials and free classes for beginners.
